The process happens in several steps. First, the warp threads are arranged parallel to each other and stretched out on the loom. Then, the healds move some warp threads up and others down to create an opening. The weft thread is passed through this opening, either by hand or automatically. The comb then pushes this new weft thread firmly against the fabric that’s already been woven. This whole process keeps repeating until you’ve made all the fabric you need.
