Handtufting uses a special gun that pushes fibers through a cotton backing marked with the rug’s design. The word ‘tuft’ describes how bundles of wool are punched into the base material, following pre-drawn patterns. To make the rug stable, we add a layer of glue or fabric to the back.

Unlike hand-knotted rugs where each knot is tied by hand, handtufted rugs offer quicker production times. Hand-knotted rugs are more expensive and can take several months to two years to complete, depending on the design’s complexity.
